Orthopedics

Prosthetics (Dentures) can help restore a beautiful smile to people who, for whatever reason, have lost some, or even all of their teeth. Your teeth influence not only your appearance, but also your health because the condition of your digestive system and your body’s ability to absorb the useful substances in food depend to a large extent on how well you chew your food. In addition, losing teeth often leads to deformation of the jaw and speech disorders.

Prosthetic dentistry involves a broad range of reconstructive methods. The choice of which type of denture to use – fully removable, fixed, clasp, bridges, implants, crowns or veneers – is as wide as the choice of materials available – porcelain, plastic, metal, zirconium, etc. Good, sturdy dentures can be very expensive, but you should keep in mind that you are purchasing new teeth and the length of time they will serve you depends on the quality of the materials used and the skill of the doctor.

One of the most interesting and modern methods for restoring frontal teeth is the use of veneers. A veneer is a thin ceramic plate applied to the surface of the tooth that functions exactly like a second layer of enamel. Veneers are excellent for masking old fillings that do not match the surrounding tooth color and for correcting deformations in teeth.

The doctor selects a veneer color that will make the patient’s restored teeth look completely natural. Ceramic veneers have another advantage: they resist tobacco and coffee stains and require only the usual twice daily brushing and floss for proper care.

In helping you choose the right type of dental prosthesis, the doctor will always consider your wishes while also taking into account your overall health and lifestyle. The choice of materials is also very important and influences not only how long the denture will last, but its aesthetic appeal as well. Every choice is very individual, and our doctors will take the time to help you select exactly what you need.

Dental laboratory

Our dental clinic works closely with a dental laboratory that has proven its ability to provide top quality and aesthetically pleasing products that satisfy the serious demands of our patients. The durability, look and functionality of prosthetics depend directly on the work of the laboratory. And if an experienced dentist installs those prosthetics using high quality materials, modern equipment, proper technique and a flexible but sound approach, the finished product will serve the patient for many years. It will not only carry out its intended function, but will also reflect an impeccable aesthetic, look absolutely natural and will protect the maxillofacial joint from trauma sometimes caused by improperly manufactured prostheses.

Master technician Alexei Vasilyev opened a Moscow dental laboratory in 2008 as a branch of the large dental laboratory he owns and established in Berlin 15 years ago.

Vasilyev worked as a jeweler prior to earning a degree as a dental technician in 1985 from Moscow Medical School Number 1. He then moved to Germany where he founded his dental laboratory in Berlin. He constantly worked and attended postgraduate courses until he had achieved enough proficiency to pass demanding state exams in Solingen, Germany to become a qualified master dental technician.

Vasilyev brings the entire body of that accumulated skill and experience to his work in Moscow. His laboratory uses only the newest methods and materials developed by specialists in the world’s leading dental technology companies. These include:

  • ceramic products by VITA and Hereus Kulzer (Germany)
  • zirconium dioxide blocks by ZirkonZahn (Germany)
  • artificial teeth for dentures by Ivoclar (Liechtenstein)
  • attachments for combined elements by Bredent (Germany)
  • equipment from leading manufacturers Duerr, Degussa and KaVo

The laboratory offers the widest possible range of services in the field of prosthetic dentistry, including:

  • porcelain-fused-to-metal dental crowns
  • zirconium dioxide-based crowns
  • removable prosthesis employing various attachments and telescopic crowns
  • ceramic veneers
  • ceramic inlays, onlays and overlays
  • implants with removable and non-removable prostheses
  • mouthguards for bruxism
  • mouthguards for correcting overbite or underbite
  • mouthguards for whitening teeth
